Job Opportunity: Part time Health Unit Coordinator

Positions Available: 1 Part Time
Location: Northome, MN
Hours: Mon, Wed, Fri 8am - 5pm and additional hours as needed

Our medical clinic is seeking a part time Unit Coordinator to join our team of medical providers in Northome, MN. Here you'll enjoy a daytime only practice in a fun and positive team environment. The Unit Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating the flow of information within the nursing department between patients and the medical staff.

Unit Coordinator Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for providers and nursing staff
  • Ensure good communication among the team by coordinating and organizing the flow of patient care needs
  • Answer incoming phone calls for nursing department, assist patients and route calls to appropriate party
  • Coordinate patient referrals to outreach specialists
  • Complete follow up phone calls and recalls as directed by providers
  • Schedule follow up appointments and check out patients
  • Provide desktop management for various electronic medical record needs
  • Assist nurses in cleaning and stocking exam rooms as needed
  • Assist nursing staff to resolve patient and pharmacy inquiries
  • Assist Medical Receptionist with incoming patient inquiries
  • Provide backup support to Medical Reception when appropriate
  • Obtain needed medical records from outside facilities, focusing on new patients

Unit Coordinator Requirements:
  • Team-centered approach

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Dependable, organized, detail oriented and professional
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • 1-3 years experience in a clinic or hospital setting
  • EMR or EHR experience preferred
  • High school diploma required
